New EDU-ACT Educational Modules for Teachers and Pupils

As part of the EDU-ACT project, we are pleased to present a new project deliverable: D2.2 Educational Modules for Teachers and Pupils.

The educational modules have been developed to support teachers, educators and professionals working with young people through sport. They provide practical tools and learning activities that can help address important challenges such as violence, racism, discrimination and intolerance in sport, while promoting safer, more respectful and inclusive sporting environments.

Learning through sport

Sport has a unique ability to bring people together, encourage cooperation and create a sense of belonging. At the same time, sporting environments can also reflect wider social challenges, including discrimination, intolerance and different forms of violence.

The EDU-ACT educational modules therefore combine learning with practical and experiential activities. They encourage participants to reflect on their attitudes and behaviour, understand different perspectives and develop values and skills that contribute to positive sporting environments.

The modules address four key topics:

  • Violence
  • Discrimination
  • Intolerance
  • Racism

Through practical exercises, discussions, educational materials, videos and other learning resources, the modules support teachers and pupils in exploring these topics in an accessible and engaging way.

Supporting teachers and pupils

The materials are particularly designed to support work with pupils aged 10–14 and can be incorporated into physical education, school activities, workshops and other sport-related educational settings.

Rather than focusing only on theoretical knowledge, the modules encourage active participation, critical thinking, empathy, cooperation and reflection. The aim is to help young people recognise inappropriate behaviour, understand its consequences and contribute to sporting environments based on dignity, equality, inclusion and mutual respect.

The educational modules will also support upcoming capacity-building activities and workshops for teachers and pupils implemented within the EDU-ACT project.
