The PlayBall project – European Heritage through Traditional Ball Games officially started with its first online partners meeting, bringing together organisations from Slovenia, Italy, Spain and Croatia.
Partners presented their organisations, reviewed the project objectives and agreed on the main activities, responsibilities, timeline and communication procedures.
Over the next 18 months, PlayBall will promote physical activity, social inclusion and European cultural heritage through traditional ball games, focusing on children aged 6–13, including children with intellectual disabilities. The partnership will develop a Handbook of Traditional Ball Games, Guide of Best Cultural Practices, e-learning platform and training materials, followed by training activities and sport events in partner countries.
The meeting marked the first step towards developing an innovative and inclusive sport programme that brings together sport, inclusion and European cultural heritage.
